2013 National Festival of Breads™ Rules
King Arthur Flour, Fleischmann’s Yeast® and the Kansas Wheat Commission present the 2013 National Festival of Breads™ (“Contest”). Participation in the Contest constitutes full and unconditional agreement to, and acceptance of, these Official Rules. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. ALL FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL AND MUNICIPAL RULES APPLY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
The Contest emphasizes the role that bread plays in a healthy and active lifestyle. The kernel of wheat is a storehouse of nutrients essential to the human diet, and a complex carbohydrate that provides a source of time-released energy. In addition, bread provides dietary fiber, protein, fat, iron, zinc and B vitamins in our diets. The B vitamin folic acid has been shown to prevent birth defects and may help reduce the risk of heart disease, strokes, Alzheimer’s disease and some cancers. In addition to the nutritional benefits, baking bread from scratch is an achievable and rewarding experience for the baker.
WHO CAN ENTER
The Contest is open to any amateur YOUTH baker 12 to 17 years of age or amateur ADULT baker 18 years of age or older as of January 1, 2013, and a legal United States resident residing in one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.
